The new owners of the Denver Corporate Center, located in the heart of the city, decided the interior of the building needed to be remodeled. They brought in MAH Architectural Group, which specified Westcoat to achieve the desired look for the floor which was covered in carpet and tile on the ground floor.
Problem
The new owner wanted just a stain and seal system, but after pulling up carpet and tile, soon realized it wouldn’t be so easy. The floor was uneven throughout with 1-2 inches difference in height in some areas. The architect worked with Westcoat Rep Matt Kadin and Westcoat QCA Joaquin Soria of Decorative Denver Concrete to come up with a solution for this floor.
Solution
Matt proposed leveling the floor with Level-It first to create an even canvas for the stain. The architect and owner were pleased with the idea of having a nice even floor and Joaquin and his crew installed the self-leveling system throughout the ground floor. After Level-It was installed other trades came in to finish walls and electrical, etc. Joaquin and his crew then came back onsite to grind the new surface in preparation for staining. Fast Stain was applied in a multitude of colors creating a giant mosaic. The floor was sealed with SC-66 Polyurethane for a matte finish and ultimate protection.
