Transforming a garage into an office is no easy feat, especially if you want it to look like an extension of your home.  Ryan and his crew over at Monarch Concrete Coatings did just that and the room came out exactly as the customer had imagined.

The Monarch crew prepped the concrete by grinding and then applied two coats of Westcoat SC-35 Water-Based Stain in Sepia. What’s unique with this installation is that they used an airbrush to apply the stain. Ryan said the airbrush allowed them to have complete control of the stain application.

Finally they applied EC-32 High Build Clear Epoxy Topcoat and EC-95 Polyurethane Topcoat for a very high gloss finish. Ryan said, “We love trying new things and it worked awesome”.

Westcoat’s Water-Based Stain Grind & Seal System is a process of grinding the concrete and applying a waterbased stain and sealer. There are no acidic ingredients used, and contains low-VOC making it an environmentally friendly system. Designed to be applied directly on existing concrete interior floors where a colored stain is desired. This systems is a light duty system designed for residential interior floors with light foot traffic.

Westcoat EC-32 High Build Clear Epoxy Topcoat is a two-component, 100% solids, high-build, high viscosity, cyclo-aliphatic, chemical resistant epoxy. This highly versatile epoxy coating has superior clarity.

Westcoat EC-95 is a two component, polyester, high solids, solvenated, polyurethane topcoat. The UV resistant, mar resistant, chemical resistant nature of this product will cause it to outperform most other types of sealers or topcoats when compared.
