The Monterras

Located in Old Town Pasadena, The Monterras apartment complex boasts its central location and offers abundant amenities for its residents. A recent update to the three buildings resulted in resurfacing the concrete around the pool.

Sta Dry Waterproofing and Construction Services was called on to beautify the space for the owners at Essex Property Trust. Wil and Keith at Sta-Dry and their team of expert installers did something a bit unique for this pooldeck and surrounding areas.

First MACoat was installed to waterproof the existing concrete around the pool. Essex Property wanted the pool deck to match the existing interior wood flooring so instead of a standard knock down texture, they installed our Stamp-It system with a wood plank finish. This technique gives the illusion of having a gorgeous wood deck but has the durablility of a decorative concrete coating. Stamp-it is highly customizable with endless stamps and textures to choose from. In this case, the wood plank stamp worked perfectly to tie in to the interior wood floor.

To achieve the color the crew used a custom application technique of blending multiple values of SC-35 Water-Based Stains to get the worn wood look. To protect the surface, the entire area was sealed with SC-65 and SC-66 Water-Based Polyurethane Sealers. The SC-66 offers a satin sheen which was ideal to finish the natural look.

The owners at Essex Property Trust loved the look so much that they had the MACoat with custom Stamp-It finish installed on several of there other community properties.
