SCOPE OF WORK
Custom Concrete Coatings installed Liquid Granite epoxy chip flooring system at the Port of Houston. The port is one of the largest ports in the world and has been experiencing tremendous growth. The expansion of this international port needed a flooring solution for the 1350 square foot Construction and Facilities Office.
SURFACE PREP
Before installation of Liquid Granite, the surface must be prepped, clean and free of debris. The surface was prepped using a grinder and vacuum system and a set of 30 grit metal bond diamonds.
After the existing painted flooring system was prepped, all divots and cracks were repaired and Liquid Granite was installed per system specification.
INSTALLATION
Cracks and divots in the concrete were filled with EC-72 Epoxy Patch Gel or TC-1 Basecoat Cement and WP-81 Cement Modifier respectively. To prime, the freshly repaired and prepped concrete was coated with EC-11 Epoxy Primer in Cape Cod Gray.
The decorative steps involve applying EC-34 Epoxy Topcoat followed by TC-60 Color Chips in Niagara broadcasted to refusal. The entire floor was finally finished off with EC-32 Clear Epoxy Topcoat.
ADVANTAGES
Liquid Granite is a 100% solids epoxy floor coating system with color chips broadcasted into the pigmented epoxy and sealed with a clear topcoat.
The Liquid Granite is a full broadcast color system designed for use in showrooms, restaurants, garages, recreation rooms, washrooms and kitchens. Liquid Granite is designed to be used as a light duty coating.
This USDA Compliant floor system is high build and chemical resistant. Seamless and easy to clean, Liquid Granite is durable and decorative with a variety of colors to choose from.
