Police Department Locker Room Epoxy Flooring

The National City Police Department in San Diego County needed new flooring for two large locker rooms. These high-use spaces required a durable, easy-to-clean surface with slip-resistant texture and a finish suited to daily use. Westcoat’s Dubro Quartz epoxy flooring system was selected to provide a seamless, decorative solution for the facility.
Selecting the Right Epoxy Flooring System
Westcoat Architectural Representative Marc Di Zinno worked with Sergeant Jeff Meeks and Detective Tom Di Zinno to evaluate the department’s flooring needs and determine the appropriate coating system.
The team selected Dubro Quartz, a 100% solids, double-broadcast epoxy system that combines decorative quartz aggregate with a durable, chemical-resistant finish. Its seamless design and textured surface make it well suited for locker rooms, restrooms, and other commercial facilities where cleanability and underfoot safety are priorities.
To address potential concrete substrate moisture concerns, Westcoat’s EC-15 Moisture Vapor Barrier was used in place of a standard primer. Decorative quartz sand was then broadcast into the wet epoxy, the broadcast process was repeated, and a protective clear topcoat completed the system.

The completed renovation provided the National City Police Department with an updated flooring surface designed to support everyday facility demands.
