A flooded basement prompted this customer to hire Jeff and his team to reimagine their floor in a brand new way. After the aftermath of the flood, the carpet was removed and the concrete was ready for a makeover.

Jeff and his customer decided on a custom epoxy floor. The homeowner liked the idea of a metallic epoxy and Jeff knew just the solution – Liquid Dazzle.

After priming, the metallic infused epoxy is poured out at random and looks much different than it will once dry. The product will shift and settle until a completely customized surface is achieved. Check out the fun transformation below!

About Liquid Dazzle

The substrate was mechanically prepared then the substrate was primed with EC-12 Epoxy Primer in Cape Cod Gray. This material is 100% solids, low viscosity, moisture tolerant primer and is ideal for use with a variety of Westcoat Epoxy Systems. Utilizing Cape Cod Gray as the primer color, provides a complimentary base color for the metallic epoxy layer.

For the metallic epoxy layer, the crew used EC-32 High Build Clear Epoxy Topcoat combined with a metallic pigment. The EC-32 is 100% solids, cyclo-aliphatic, high build, clear epoxy topcoat, that offers superior clarity, high strength and zero VOCs. The EC-32 combined with metallic pigment produces a highly decorative and one-of-kind floor.

To finish, the crew applied SC-65SG WB Clear Polyurethane Sealer to protect the metallic epoxy layer from micro scratches and to produce a semi-gloss sheen. The SC-65SG is a high solids, water-based, polyurethane sealer that has low VOCs, excellent impact and abrasion resistance and provides a semi-gloss finish. The SC-65 WB Clear Polyurethane is also available in Gloss and Flat sheens, in addition to Semi-Gloss.
