A private multifamily residence in Denver, CO, required a pool deck resurface. The deck had been “painted” by other contractors several times, but failed due to moisture vapor, lack of preparation, and other factors. So, Westcoat was recommended and chosen to step in to solve the issue.

With the help of Westcoat Rep Josh Diner, local Westcoat QCA Denver Commercial Property Services (DCPS) decided on using Texture-Crete Custom as the most appropriate solution for the area’s requirements. DPCS applied mockups onsite to give the client an idea of how the final result would look in a real-life scenario.

To start the application process, small flaws in the concrete were patched with EC-72 semi-rigid gel. Next, the concrete was ground to prepare for application of the moisture mitigating epoxy primer and sand broadcast. Next, DCPS mixed and applied a base and slurry coat of TC-2 polymer modified cement overlay with a custom skip trowel texture for not only a skid-resistant but also attractive finish. Finally, two thin coats of Westcoat SC-10 solid color acrylic topcoat in Sand finished the job.

Residents of this Denver multifamily building can now enjoy a newly renovated pool deck for years to come!
