Palm Trees and Pool Decks in Paradise
Loews Coronado is a tranquil oasis surrounded by shimmering bay waters. This sea-inspired four-diamond hotel is located on Coronado Island with views of the San Diego skyline. Located at 4000 Coronado Bay Road, this 440 room welcomes families and travelers alike, to its 15-acre peninsula.
The Coating sure to make a Splash
The concrete surrounding the pool deck was long overdue for a coating that stood up to foot traffic and was easy to maintain. Westcoat Rep, Marc Di Zinno had been in contact with the hotel and supplied mock-ups several times before they were ready to budget for resurfacing the pool deck.
Marc worked with Michael L. Cogburn – VP and Senior Consultant at Arnold & Associates and Marshall Dohoney – Owner of California Construction Concepts. The team reviewed many solutions and agreed that the 11-10 system was the best fit for the project. During installation, extraordinary detail was paid to the preparation of the surface to include the existing coatings and the expansion joints. The entire surface was diamond grinded before the coating was applied. The project was completed to spec; the new pool deck surface is something Loews can count on for low maintenance and durability.
