Decorative Concrete Floors: More Options, More Reasons. Flooring options have expanded markedly from the days when carpet, tile, vinyl, and hardwood were the standard choices. Today the alternatives include stained concrete, cementitious overlays, epoxy coatings, and polished concrete, all of which can deliver a variety of decorative interpretations. This presentation will review the industry’s evolution and the factors that should be considered in determining an appropriate choice of flooring system, including cost, lifecycle, environmental impact, and maintenance. Examples of approaches will be reviewed, focusing on staining, overlays, coatings, and polished concrete.
