Grind & Seal: A Modern Take on Concrete Flooring at Studio One Eleven

Instead of covering their existing concrete, the design team embraced its raw character and chose Westcoat’s Grind & Seal System to enhance and protect it.
“We knew we wanted something with character and interest,” says Alan Pullman, Partner at Studio One Eleven. “So we decided to reuse the existing concrete floors and use Westcoat’s Grind & Seal System to beautify them.”
The result is a finish that reveals the natural patina and personality of the concrete while offering durability that meets the demands of a busy design studio. The sealed surface provides abrasion, chemical, and UV resistance, and remarkably, it’s maintained its stability and appearance for over eight years.
“The flooring has stayed very stable over the eight years we’ve been here. It really brings a kind of character to the space — accentuating the industrial feeling of the rest of the environment.”
