This Hot Job comes to us from Sean Hummer at Modern Method Roofing in Northern California. Sean shared that this residential deck in Tiburon was originally built much smaller and an addition to the deck was poorly tied into the existing deck which resulted in leaking.

The original construction failed to use the correct flashings and the plywood substrate was inadequately installed causing blistering and leaking at the roof to wall details. The original deck was removed down to the floor joists, blocked and new plywood was installed. Sean and his team was then able to install the ALX Custom system with a full layer of Seal Guard. Our Water-Based Stain applied with a mottled effect made this custom deck the highlight to the exterior of this beautiful house.

Timing he deck had to be perfect as the customer held a wedding ceremony overlooking the San Francisco Bay shortly after construction was finished. They were ecstatic at the result
